Receptionist, part time - 2 positions available

This is a varied and exciting role suitable for an experienced Receptionist. A minimum of 2 years’ experience is essential, and experience gained in the manufacturing sector is preferred. Reporting to the Customer Care Manager, you will be responsible for delivering excellent customer service and dealing with enquiries in a professional and courteous manner.

You will have excellent communication skills and be able to work on your own and as part of a team.

Responsibilities:

  • To greet all visitors and ensure that security procedures are adhered to
  • To answer general telephone and email queries
  • To take and relay messages
  • To sort and scan incoming mail and frank outgoing mail
  • To manage incoming and outgoing faxes
  • To provide general administration and clerical support
  • To organise conference and meeting room bookings
  • To co-ordinate meetings and organise catering
  • To assist the Customer Care Manager as necessary

Purchasing Assistant

This is a varied and exciting role suitable for an experienced Purchasing Assistant. A minimum of 1 year experience is essential, and experience gained in the manufacturing sector is preferred. Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, you will be responsible for providing purchasing support dealing with enquiries in a professional and courteous manner.

You will have excellent communication skills and be able to work on your own and as part of a team.

Responsibilities:

  • Raise and process purchase orders in a timely manner;
  • Obtain order confirmations from suppliers and check against purchase orders;
  • Obtain confirmed delivery dates from suppliers & update purchase orders accordingly;
  • For various suppliers, prepare and upload PO’s
  • Upload glass reports for ordering and again for receiving
  • Issue PO numbers to site based staff for collections
  • Deal with any supplier queries/issues relating  to PO’s raised
  • Track orders and ensure timely delivery and advise others of delays
  • Provide additional support to Purchasing Manger
  • Undertake any other task/duties as reasonably required;
  • Ensure activities undertaken are completed as per agreed timescales

Health and Safety Assistant

This is a varied and exciting role suitable for an experienced Health & Safety Assistant and will be based at our Head Office in Castlecary, Cumbernauld. Reporting to the H&S Manager you will provide a competent administration support and assistance to the H&S function.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Liaising with Project Managers and Site Managers to obtain statistics in relation to individual sites’ H&S performance and collating for inclusion within the monthly H&S Report.
  • Work with key departments to ensure the correct H&S training has been carried out and remains up to date.
  • Assisting with the delivery of Health and Safety Inductions.
  • Managing a Portable Appliance Testing regime and recording the results.
  • Assisting the Maintenance Department in the testing and recording of the effectiveness of the Fire Alarm Systems and associated lighting systems on a weekly basis.
  • Maintaining a tracker of all current jobs ensuring the Safety Documentation is readily available should a request from an interested party be received.
  • Administering the ordering, recording and issue of PPE to employees.
  • Assist in weekly safety inspections in the factories/yard and offices.
  • Manage, maintain and update H&S registers daily i.e. Accident Reports, Safety Devices etc.

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate:

  • Experience within a similar role.
  • An awareness / working knowledge of Health and Safety Legislation.
  • A relevant Health and Safety Qualification i.e. NEBOSH is preferred.
  • Excellent organisation skills, communication skills and attention to detail are essential.
  • Strong IT capability.

Experience within manufacturing or construction industry is desirable.

Window Installer (Hayfield, Kirkcaldy)

This is a varied and exciting role suitable for an experienced Window Fitter/Installer.

The successful applicant will be responsible for fitting finished windows, ensuring quality standards and customer service expectations are met.

Reporting to the Contracts Manager, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Organising and preparing for each job, ensuring that assembly instructions, specifications and parts lists are studied thoroughly;
  • Ensuring that drawings are followed correctly, and jobs are complete to a high standard;
  • Reviewing jobs to assess for correct fit, including sealants, fixings and finishing materials;
  • Checking specifications by measuring finished assembly;
  • Ensuring supplies are maintained by checking stock to determine inventory level and anticipating needed supplies;
  • Completing production and quality forms;
  • Activities need to be undertaken and completed as per agreed timescales;

The ideal applicant will:

  • Ideally have 5-8 years’ experience in joinery and/or window fitting experience.
  • Have the ability, experience and desire of achieving high levels of quality workmanship with an unprecedented focus on customer service.
  • Excellent Communication Skills (written and verbal).
  • Confidence to work independently and on own initiative

Travel will be required throughout the region therefore a full, clean driving license is essential

Stores and Logistics Manager

We are looking to recruit a Stores & Logistics Manager for a newly created, full time, permanent position.

Based from our manufacturing site in Castlecary, Cumbernauld, the successful candidate will be responsible for leading and managing the stores and dispatch functions of the business ensuring the correct volumes of materials are available at the time they are required and that orders are delivered in line with customer and operational planning requirements.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage the purchasing of raw materials to ensure customer orders are fulfilled OTIF and production plans can be achieved, seeking opportunities for savings, price breaks and improved ways of working.
  • Develop and implement the strategy for introducing stock stability and agree achievable delivery dates for customers.
  • Produce detailed monthly board reports with projected spends on materials and dispatch dates for financial and operational purposes.
  • Manage the dispatch function to ensure the correct processes are in place for vehicles to be loaded in good time with the correct product and made safe for transportation.
  • Ensure that the yard is maintained to a high standard with daily health and safety checks.
  • Ensure the correct processes are in place for booking stock/ goods into, and out of, our business systems to provide accurate, real time stock records and that these processes are being carried out correctly.
  • Manage and oversee the stock checking process (perpetual, month end, year-end and spot checks), ensuring it is being carried out effectively and accurately and that any issues found are resolved and prevented from re-occurring.
  • Define strategy and implement targets for reducing excess and ageing stock.
  • Manage the process for non-conforming materials effectively with suppliers ensuring that the materials are returned, replacement material is received, and / or relevant credits are issued.
  • Contribute to the business Sales & Operations Planning (SOP) process by forecasting current and future procurement needs and ensuring our suppliers have the right capacity available.
  • Work with Quality team to drive the required supplier scorecard performance rating and agree improvement plans where shortfalls arise.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Previous experience within a Stores / Logistics role at management level.
  • Experience of MRP systems would be preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Confidence to work independently and on own initiative.
  • Forklift operators certificate
  • Driving Licence

Dispatch Operative

We are looking to recruit an experienced Dispatch Operative for a full time, permanent position.

Based from our manufacturing site in Castlecary, Cumbernauld, the successful candidate will work from our yard to ensure efficient, safe and accurate handling of all products and delivery of high-quality service, ensuring the highest levels of accuracy at all times.

Dispatch Operative Responsibilities:

  • Moving finished products into designated areas of the yard, following safe lifting and moving practices to ensure damage to products and individuals is avoided;
  • Ensuring windows are scanned into correct racks using slot allocation scanner and despatch scanner;
  • Preparing products for delivery, ensuring products are protected with the appropriate packaging;
  • Ensuring all drivers know what is included in their loads and where to locate it;
  • Inspecting all loads before vehicles are despatched, following the delivery checklist and signing the delivery notes confirming if all materials are present, clearly marking any shortages and reporting these to the Dispatch Supervisor;
  • Unloading vans that have brought back material, making sure the material goes back into its allocated place or designated quarantine area;
  • Ensuring correct loading of vans to ensure product quality is not affected;
  • Ensuring all documentation is complete and to the required standards;
  • Maintaining an organised, clear working environment;

Dispatch Operative Requirements:

  • Previous experience within a dispatch / logistics role in a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Confidence to work independently and on own initiative.
  • Forklift operator’s certificate
  • Driving Licence

PVC fabricators - Cumbernauld

Due to continued growth, CMS Window Systems are looking to recruit experienced Window and Door Fabricators for a number of permanent positions.

We are able to offer the right candidates:

  • Very competitive pay rates – we have recently increased our pay rates to up to £11.00 per hour for dayshift and up to £14.50 per hour for nightshift with enhanced rates for overtime.
  • Weekly production bonus – payable based on quality and production targets.
  • Shift patterns covering 5 week days, 39 hours per week – dayshift and nightshift hours may be available with optional overtime at weekends.
  • Travel Support – additional travel allowances and / or car share schemes will be considered for employees who live further afield.
  • Great working environment – our main manufacturing facility is based at our site in Castlecary, Cumbernauld with onsite parking and café facilities.

  • Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment in operations such as cutting, routing, assembling, general machining & fabrication, using hand & power tools.
  • Able to follow procedures and instructions, especially those relating to safety and quality.
  • A good attention to detail and a capability to check and measure work to ensure a high standard of quality.
  • An ability to operate well using your own initiative and to contribute as part of a team.
  • A positive attitude and enthusiasm towards achieving quality and productivity targets as well as developing your own skills.
