PVC Site Manager

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Site Manager to manage the installation works on our PVC window and door refurbishment projects.

Reporting to the Contracts Manager, your key responsibilities will be:

  • Liaising with the CMS design team and ensure a technical knowledge of the project is understood;
  • Recruiting and managing all on site sub-contract and books in labour, ensuring all documentation is complete and approved prior to starting on site.
  • Ensuring the health, safety and wellbeing of all staff on the site, including the completion of the required CMS Health and Safety documentation;
  • Attending all required progress / technical meetings and reporting back as required.
  • Ensuring an appropriate level of correspondence with sub-contractor and client teams is maintained via the use of email, daily progress reports and weekly progress updates
  • Liaising with production and dispatch teams to ensure timely delivery of package materials to site and associated drawings as required.
  • Maintaining and monitoring all site quality control, checking and approving all complete installed works via the use of CMS sign-off documentation firstly with sub-contractor and then with client teams until satisfactory sign-off is achieved.

The ideal candidate will be:

  • Able to read and understand product functions from technical diagrams, instruction manuals and design drawings.
  • Able to demonstrate excellent communication, time management and organisation skills.
  • In possession of a full, clean driving license and a current CSCS card, SMSTS or SSSTS.
  • Experience of working with a commercial glazing contractor would be beneficial.

Contracts Manager (Durham)

Due to sustained business growth, we are looking to recruit a Senior Contracts Manager to manage and develop a newly awarded Local Authority contract in the North East of England.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading, managing and developing project delivery teams to ensure that projects are allocated effectively and are being managed in line with client / company expectations and performance targets / obligations;
  • Development and delivery of turnover and profit - collate, monitor and action budgetary forecasts versus actual spend;
  • Developing and maintaining positive relationships with key clients and acting as a main point of contact for escalations and business development;
  • Ensuring contract compliance to systems, processes and procedures in accordance with the business management systems;
  • Managing, reviewing, mitigating and reporting contract risks;
  • Developing and managing strategic links with suppliers;
  • Carrying out regular management tours of site activities and setting inspection targets for the operational team;

Window Surveyor

At CMS we are looking to recruit an experienced Window Surveyor:
The successful applicant will have experience in the window industry as a window surveyor, a good attention to detail and be conversant with current building regulations.

The role of Surveyor is predominantly field based but will require regular visits to the office.

Duties include:
Liaison with customers, property owners and tenants. Carrying out a comprehensive survey to determine manufacturing detail. Drawing up each survey to enable order processing. Producing paperwork required for installation.

Qualities required include:
Previous window surveying experience. Good knowledge of current Building Regulations. A methodical and accurate approach to work. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Experience:
Fenestration Surveying preferable.
Minimum 5 years’ experience.
Current DVLA driving License.

The successful candidate must produce valid disclosure certification, promote a professional image and uphold the companies' values and work ethics.

Production Processor

We currently have a varied and exciting role suitable for an experienced Production Processor. Reporting to the Production Office Supervisor and working as part of a team supporting our growing business, you will assist the Production Office Supervisor to ensure all jobs are input within adequate timescales to meet the requirements of the Production schedule. The ability to work under pressure, with good computer skills and attention to detail is essential.

You will be responsible for:

  • In-putting jobs passed by the Estimating Team into Evolution
  • In-putting all non-production items to Evolution and pass to Procurement/Stores departments as appropriate
  • Printing delivery notes and pass to Dispatch Department or the relevant Division
  • Collecting missing information for ad hoc jobs
  • Ordering raw material in line with target delivery dates
  • Ensuring activities undertaken are completed as per agreed timescales
  • Passing of correspondence and invoices to accounts department for invoicing;
  • Creation of Production Batches;
  • To liaise with the Estimating department to ensure estimated costs are maintained.

Quality Manager

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Quality Manager to join our team, based in Castlecary, Cumbernauld. Reporting to the Manufacturing Director, you will be responsible for implementing, maintaining and managing the company's quality procedures, standards and specifications ensuring legal compliance and that customer expectations, in relation to quality, are met.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Advising on quality procedures, standards and specifications and ensuring their implementation through providing training, tools and techniques;
  • Reviewing customer requirements and feedback to ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction is achieved in terms of the quality of our products;
  • Liaising with procurement team to establish quality requirements from external suppliers;
  • Support the manufacturing teams in achieving high quality standards;
  • Manage QA/QC resource to fully support manufacturing in achieving output;
  • Researching new ways to reduce waste and increase efficiency;
  • Defining quality procedures in conjunction with operating staff;

Environmental Officer

Based from our manufacturing site in Castlecary, Cumbernauld:

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinate environmental and sustainable development initiatives already underway in line with the Company’s strategic objectives and priorities;
  • Maintaining records including various to catalogue and maintain record of various building infrastructure documents, building warrants, plans/drawings;
  • Develop and compile environmental department projected programme list;
  • Carry out environmental training for the site induction and refresher training as required for all employees.
  • Review and update company system operating procedures
  • Keeping up to date on current legislation and ensuring this is adhered to.
  • Comply with monitoring and evaluation procedures and systems by preparing regular reports for the Board of Directors;

Senior Quantity Surveyor

CMS Window Systems is an industry leading building envelope contractor specialising in the design, manufacture and installation of PVCu and aluminium windows, doors and curtain walling systems.

We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to be based at our Head Office in Castlecary, Cumbernauld.  Working as part of a large QS team, you will commercially control and manage all costs and billing applications relating to projects, from the initial order through to the final account.  You will cover a range of sectors including commercial, social housing and new build.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing and produce tender and contract negotiation documents, including bills of quantities and specifications;
  • Supporting the Commercial Manager in the monthly reporting of Actual V Budgeted costs and report on any variances.
  • Preparing phased values for each assigned project.
  • Work with Project Managers to control and manage all costs relating to projects, from the initial order to the final account;
  • Reviewing construction issue drawings and specifications against tender documentation and review any subcontractor quotes and authorise subcontractors’ orders;
  • To prepare phased values for each project under their control;
  • To assist in project risk assessment and value management;
  • Can identify, analyse and develop responses to commercial risks;
  • Submit interim Applications for Payment and Final Accounts;
  • To identify and secure reimbursement of variations to the contracted scope of works and ensure inclusion in Applications for Payment;
  • Manage, monitor and report on all commercial aspects of projects, whilst maintaining a positive cash flow and maximise profitability of projects;
  • Awareness of the different Building Conditions of Contract in current use;
  • To ensure activities undertaken are completed as per agreed timescales time/cost/service specification.;

The ideal candidate will be:

  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying and possess relevant experience.
  • An experienced QS with 8+ years experience in the manufacturing and installation of external Windows & Doors or, alternatively, from a construction / manufacturing background.
  • Intermediate or advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Strong commercial acumen and numerical skills.

Payroll Assistant

We are currently recruiting for a part-time Payroll Assistant to be based from our manufacturing facility in Castlecary, Cumbernauld.  Reporting to the Payroll Manager, you will assist with running of a busy payroll department which runs a weekly and monthly payroll for over 250 employee; ensuring that all payroll processes are legally compliant, and payments are processed efficiently and accurately.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Gathering new start information and inputting into Sage 50.
  • Collating and checking weekly and monthly timesheets and entering into Sage 50.
  • Assisting with the processing and inputting of the weekly and monthly payroll and managing the process in the absence of the Payroll Administrator, when required.
  • Ensuring all overtime payments are authorised on time and are accurately reflected in Sage 50.
  • Calculating average holiday pay calculations.
  • Preparing payroll admin letters as required.
  • Assisting with generating weekly postings from Sage 50 into Sage 200.
  • Adding new starts to the Royal London Pension Scheme.
  • Monitor and update sharepoint logs
  • Manual cross referencing to ensure overtime hours are accurate with the time and attendance system.

The ideal candidate will be:

  • An experienced Payroll Assistant with the knowledge and capability to run payroll independently when required.
  • Experienced with Sage 50 with Sage 200 experience also beneficial.

Window Fitter/Installer

The successful applicant will be responsible for fitting finished windows, ensuring quality standards and customer service expectations are met.

Reporting to the Contracts Manager, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Organising and preparing for each job, ensuring that assembly instructions, specifications and parts lists are studied thoroughly;
  • Ensuring that drawings are followed correctly, and jobs are complete to a high standard;
  • Reviewing jobs to assess for correct fit, including sealants, fixings and finishing materials;
  • Checking specifications by measuring finished assembly;
  • Ensuring supplies are maintained by checking stock to determine inventory level and anticipating needed supplies;
  • Completing production and quality forms;
  • Activities need to be undertaken and completed as per agreed timescales;

The ideal applicant will:

  • Ideally have 5-8 years’ experience in joinery and/or window fitting experience.
  • Have the ability, experience and desire of achieving high levels of quality workmanship with an unprecedented focus on customer service.
  • Excellent Communication Skills (written and verbal).
  • Confidence to work independently and on own initiative

Customer Care Advisor/Executive

Based at our Head Office in Castlecary, Cumbernauld and reporting to the Customer Care and Servicing Manager you will be part of a small team, playing an active role in supporting our growing business.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Liaising with customers to co-ordinate and allocate appointments for surveyors and installation teams; ensuring the system is updated and all supporting documents are prepared.
  • Ensuring regular communication with customers to resolve queries and any complaints.
  • Producing an installation programme and keeping customers / tenants updated on a weekly basis.
  • Liaising with Estimating, Production, Surveyors, Site Managers and Despatch Department on a daily basis in order to update programmes.
  • Administer requests for quotations and work with the Estimating team to ensure these are completed.
  • Processing all incoming Service Team requests into the relevant systems.

Aluminium Site Manager

Reporting to the Senior Project Manager within the Aluminum Contracts teams, your key responsibilities will be:

  • To attend pre-start meetings relating to allocated projects;
  • To liaise with CMS allocated design staff members and ensure you are up to speed with current design release and approval, have hard copy on site of all current CMS drawings at Construction status;
  • To review the construction programme;
  • To ensure the Health Safety and wellbeing of all staff within the construction site, including the completion of required site managers CMS Health and Safety documentation;
  • To manage all on site purchased/hired plant and tools until completion and handover of project
  • To attend all required progress/technical meetings on site or in-house take notes and distribute to appropriate personnel by return within a timely fashion;
  • To ensure appropriate level of correspondence with sub-contractor is maintained via the use of email, daily progress reports and weekly progress updates
  • To liaise with production and despatch teams to ensure timely delivery of package materials to site and associated drawings as required inclusive of all required flashings and sundries as appropriate;

  • To ensure activities undertaken are completed as per agreed timescales;

PVC fabricators - Cumbernauld

 

Due to continued growth, CMS Window Systems are looking to recruit experienced Window and Door Fabricators for a number of permanent positions.

We are able to offer the right candidates:

  • Very competitive pay rates – we have recently increased our pay rates to up to £11.00 per hour for dayshift and up to £14.50 per hour for nightshift with enhanced rates for overtime.
  • Weekly production bonus – payable based on quality and production targets.
  • Shift patterns covering 5 week days, 39 hours per week – dayshift and nightshift hours may be available with optional overtime at weekends.
  • Travel Support – additional travel allowances and / or car share schemes will be considered for employees who live further afield.
