Senior Project Manager

This is a varied and exciting role suitable for an experienced Senior Project Manager.  Reporting to the Senior Project Manager within the PVC Contracts teams, your key responsibilities will be:

  • To ensure that Project Managers have adequate communication relating to all current and proposed projects;
  • To manage the allocation of Project Managers to specific projects and monitor the work flow management process in order to ensure that interim and final deadlines are met;
  • To manage the Project Managers performance and quality of delivery in relation to their job description, and complete relevant appraisal documentation;
  • To oversee the resourcing/recruitment of the Project Managers, Senior Site managers, Site Managers and Site Supervisors;
  • To provide coaching/mentoring support to new Project Managers or those requiring additional support;
  • To collate, monitor and action budgetary forecasts versus actual spend and feedback to the Contracts Director;
  • To oversee the allocation of sub-contract labour and ensure adequate recruitment/retention levels across all sites; 
  • To ensure activities undertaken are completed as per agreed timescales;
  • To maintain a clean working environment.

The ideal candidate will be:

  • Able to demonstrate excellent communication, time management and organisation skills.
  • In possession of a full, clean driving license and a current CSCS card, SMSTS or SSSTS.
  • Experience of working with a commercial glazing contractor would be beneficial.

HR Manager – P/T – 1 Year FTC

Location: Cumbernauld

Salary: Competitive

Hours of Work: Flexible (over 3/4 days per week)

We are currently recruiting for an experienced HR Manager for a part-time position covering a one year fixed term maternity contract, commencing in June 2019.

Based from our manufacturing site in Castlecary, Cumbernauld, the successful candidate will have responsibility for leading and managing the HR function.  They will embed HR best practice throughout the Company and ensure activities are aligned with our strategic business objectives in addition to developing, educating and supporting line managers on a wide range of employment issues.  The successful candidate will be required to manage and implement a number of key HR projects, which will include implementing a new HRIS / T&A System.

Key responsibilities:

  • Ensuring that company HR policies and processes are implemented properly and consistently and that there are effective systems of compliance and audit.
  • Leading the development of the HR function as a member of the Senior Management Team.
  • Developing, educating and supporting stakeholders on a wide range of employee relations issues.
  • Leading, managing and undertaking specific HR projects including Performance Management, Learning and Development, Reward and Recognition and Employee Engagement.
  • Ensuring the collation of quantitative employee information including detailed HR reports, HR trends, analysing and implementing courses of action to address any potential risk areas
  • Sharing knowledge regarding employment trends and changes in legislation as they impact on our business. Ensure HR activity is conducted in an ethical and legally compliant manner.
  • Co-ordinating the training of managers, supervisors and employees.

Qualifications and Experience required:

  • A relevant HR qualification with CIPD accreditation.
  • Experience of operating at a senior level within HR in a fast-paced, innovative environment.
  • Demonstrative success in the design and delivery of appropriate HR processes and policies.
  • Strong employment law knowledge.
  • Excellent IT skills, including MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment would be beneficial, but not essential.
  • Experience with implementing / developing HR systems.

Business Systems Software Administrator

This is a varied and exciting role suitable for an experienced Business Systems Software Administrator. 

Supporting the Business Systems Director you will be responsible for the maintenance of various software systems throughout the business which are utilised for order processing, manufacturing and stock control.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring that all data is entered in line with requirements as they relate to stock control and manufacturing within our uPVC and Aluminium window manufacturing facilities;
  • Review data change requests and prioritise work in line in conjunction with;
  • Perform system changes within a change management system;
  • Liaise with Engineering department to troubleshoot CNC machine interface files;
  • Liaise with internal and external IT department to troubleshoot user performance issues;
  • Ensure security of data by controlling user permission settings;
  • Maintain current order warning system, whilst processing new requests in conjunction with the key stakeholders;
  • Maintain current automated printing software whilst, whilst processing new requests in conjunction with the key stakeholders;
  • Maintain various automated task programmes in conjunction with key stakeholders;
  • Maintain various automated KPI dashboards which utilise SQL queries and data within Excel;
  • Maintain various automated Reports which utilise SQL queries and data within Excel;
  • Administration of the trade access portal in conjunction with internal and external support companies;

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate:

Essential skills:

  • Good understanding of relational database models
  • Basic SQL query writing ability
  • Enhanced attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all stakeholders including Senior Managers
  • Highly skilled Excel user
  • Basic understanding of networks

Health & Safety Advisor

This is a varied and exciting role suitable for an experienced Health & Safety Advisor and will be based at our Head Office in Castlecary, Cumbernauld. Reporting to the H&S Manager you will provide advice and support to the H&S function.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with the delivery and tracking of Office based Health and Safety Inductions.
  • Assisting Managers with the organisation and booking of Health and Safety related Training.
  • Working in conjunction with the Human Resource and Commercial Departments to develop a common database of information specific to Health and Safety competence training.
  • Post development of the above liaising with relevant Managers to ensure refresher training where required is carried out in a timely manner.
  • Carrying out weekly Health and Safety inspections on a rotational basis using our iAuditor Software across the operational functions of our business and reporting and actioning improvements within area of responsibility.
  • Assisting the Health and Safety Manager to carry out live Project Site Health and Safety Inspections using our iAuditor Software, reporting and actioning improvements within area of responsibility always ensuring we are meeting our obligations under current legislation including The Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015.
  • Attending training courses and Health and Safety Forums as required to continually improve knowledge and understanding of current legislation and company standards.
  • Assisting the Health and Safety Manager with the preparation of regular reports on compliance and activity for presentation to our Senior Management Team.
  • To investigate, or where appropriate, to assist others to investigate the circumstances and causes of incidents and accidents and take necessary steps to prevent a recurrence
  • To monitor, evaluate and review Health and Safety policy and practice, make recommendations and implement new policies and procedures as required.
  • Assisting the Health and Safety Manager to support our Managers in the maintenance of safe systems of work providing advice, coaching and practical hands on support.
  • Assisting Managers and Staff with the development, implementation, communication and review of Safe Systems of Work in accordance with current legislation  including Safe Working methodologies, Risk Assessment, COSHH Assessments etc
  • Assist in driving a positive Health and Safety culture across all areas of our business.

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate:

  • Experience within a similar role.
  • An awareness / working knowledge of Health and Safety Legislation.
  • A relevant Health and Safety Qualification i.e. NEBOSH is preferred.
  • Excellent organisation skills, communication skills and attention to detail are essential.
  • Strong IT capability.

Experience within manufacturing or construction industry is desirable.

Service Engineer

This is a varied and exciting role suitable for an experienced Service Engineer.

The successful applicant will be responsible for carrying out assessments and repair work in a safe and professional manner, rectifying defective windows / doors that we have installed that may need alterations / fixing / repairing.

Reporting to the Contracts Manager & Service Co-ordinator, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Fitting new parts as required;
  • Ensuring van stock is maintained & used in accordance with company procedures;   
  • Ensuring the vehicle is maintained and weekly checks are conducted and documented;
  • Ensuring product, components & materials required to complete each call are collected in a timely manner as required and such items are transported safely and securely;   
  • Identify issues of concern regarding product or installation quality during debriefs in order to continuously improve the levels of service & product quality provided to customers; 
  • Reading product functions from technical diagrams, instruction manuals and design drawings;
  • Activities need to be undertaken and completed as per agreed timescales;

The ideal applicant will:

  • Ideally have previous experience in the fabrication of windows / doors or fitting experience.
  • Have the ability, experience and desire of achieving high levels of quality workmanship with an unprecedented focus on customer service.
  • Excellent Communication Skills (written and verbal).
  • Confidence to work independently and on own initiative

Purchasing Assistant

This is a varied and exciting role suitable for an experienced Purchasing Assistant. A minimum of 1 year experience is essential, and experience gained in the manufacturing sector is preferred. Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, you will be responsible for providing purchasing support dealing with enquiries in a professional and courteous manner.

You will have excellent communication skills and be able to work on your own and as part of a team.

Responsibilities:

  • Raise and process purchase orders in a timely manner;
  • Obtain order confirmations from suppliers and check against purchase orders;
  • Obtain confirmed delivery dates from suppliers & update purchase orders accordingly;
  • For various suppliers, prepare and upload PO’s
  • Upload glass reports for ordering and again for receiving
  • Issue PO numbers to site based staff for collections
  • Deal with any supplier queries/issues relating  to PO’s raised
  • Track orders and ensure timely delivery and advise others of delays
  • Provide additional support to Purchasing Manger
  • Undertake any other task/duties as reasonably required;
  • Ensure activities undertaken are completed as per agreed timescales

Window Installer (Hayfield, Kirkcaldy)

This is a varied and exciting role suitable for an experienced Window Fitter/Installer.

The successful applicant will be responsible for fitting finished windows, ensuring quality standards and customer service expectations are met.

Reporting to the Contracts Manager, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Organising and preparing for each job, ensuring that assembly instructions, specifications and parts lists are studied thoroughly;
  • Ensuring that drawings are followed correctly, and jobs are complete to a high standard;
  • Reviewing jobs to assess for correct fit, including sealants, fixings and finishing materials;
  • Checking specifications by measuring finished assembly;
  • Ensuring supplies are maintained by checking stock to determine inventory level and anticipating needed supplies;
  • Completing production and quality forms;
  • Activities need to be undertaken and completed as per agreed timescales;

The ideal applicant will:

  • Ideally have 5-8 years’ experience in joinery and/or window fitting experience.
  • Have the ability, experience and desire of achieving high levels of quality workmanship with an unprecedented focus on customer service.
  • Excellent Communication Skills (written and verbal).
  • Confidence to work independently and on own initiative

PVC fabricators - Cumbernauld

Due to continued growth, CMS Window Systems are looking to recruit experienced Window and Door Fabricators for a number of permanent positions.

We are able to offer the right candidates:

  • Very competitive pay rates – we have recently increased our pay rates to up to £11.00 per hour for dayshift and up to £14.50 per hour for nightshift with enhanced rates for overtime.
  • Weekly production bonus – payable based on quality and production targets.
  • Shift patterns covering 5 week days, 39 hours per week – dayshift and nightshift hours may be available with optional overtime at weekends.
  • Travel Support – additional travel allowances and / or car share schemes will be considered for employees who live further afield.
  • Great working environment – our main manufacturing facility is based at our site in Castlecary, Cumbernauld with onsite parking and café facilities.

  • A good attention to detail and a capability to check and measure work to ensure a high standard of quality.
  • An ability to operate well using your own initiative and to contribute as part of a team.
  • A positive attitude and enthusiasm towards achieving quality and productivity targets as well as developing your own skills.
