Self-Employed Window Fitter/Installer

This is a varied and exciting role suitable for an experienced Self-Employed Window Fitter/Installer to work with our PVC Contract team to fit finished windows within refurb/new build, ensuring quality standards and customer service expectations are met.

Reporting to the Site Manager, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Organising and preparing for each job, ensuring that assembly instructions, specifications and parts lists are studied thoroughly
  • Ensuring that drawings are followed correctly, and jobs are complete to a high standard
  • Reviewing jobs to assess for correct fit, including sealants, fixings and finishing materials
  • Checking specifications by measuring finished assembly
  • Ensuring supplies are maintained by checking stock to determine inventory level and anticipating needed supplies
  • Completing production and quality forms
  • Activities need to be undertaken and completed as per agreed timescales

The ideal applicant will:

  • Ideally have 5-8 years’ experience in joinery and/or window fitting experience.
  • Have the ability, experience and desire of achieving high levels of quality workmanship with an unprecedented focus on customer service.
  • Excellent Communication Skills (written and verbal).
  • Confidence to work independently and on own initiative

Further Particulars:
Travel will be required throughout the region therefore a full, clean driving license and own van is essential.
Access to your own tools is also essential

Estimator - CMS Trade

This is a varied and exciting role suitable for an experienced estimator to be based at our CMS Trade facilities in East Kilbride.  You will be providing estimates to trade installers for their large- and small-scale window and door installation works from surveys / drawings / bill of quantities / specifications etc.

Reporting to the CMS Trade General Manager, you will be part of the CMS Trade team and will be pricing enquiries and communicating with customers and suppliers. Key responsibilities:

  • Preparing estimates for customers in a quick turnaround time
  • Collecting all necessary information from surveys / drawings / bill of quantities / specifications etc.
  • Relating to customers in a professional manner, making sure they receive their quotes accurately.
  • Processing quotes to orders.
  • Processing all relevant documentation for the manufacture of the order to proceed.
  • Consulting and negotiating with clients, vendors, internal departments to discuss and resolve issues.
  • Ordering all trade-specific materials.
  • Ensuring prices and parts held on Business Micros and Windows Designer systems are up to date and accurate.

 The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate:

  • A minimum of 5 years’ Estimating experience in the construction industry.
  • Knowledge of current UK building regulations;
  • Excellent communication, time management and organisation skills;
  • Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills;
  • Knowledge of Business Micros, Estimating Software and Window Designers systems is desirable.

In addition to, the successful candidate should be able to lead other members of the team to help them to develop their skill set etc.

Full Time Purchasing Assistant

This is a varied and exciting role suitable for an experienced administrative assistant within a busy purchasing department. Previous administration experience is essential, and experience gained in the manufacturing sector is preferred.

Based at our Head Office in Castlecary, Cumbernauld and reporting to the Purchasing Manager you will be part of a small team, playing an active role in supporting our growing business. You will be responsible for providing administrative purchasing support and dealing with enquiries in a professional and courteous manner.

Purchasing Assistant Key responsibilities:

  • Raise and process purchase orders in a timely manner.
  • Obtain order confirmations from suppliers and check against purchase orders.
  • To obtain confirmed delivery dates from suppliers & update purchase order accordingly.
  • For various suppliers, prepare PO’s and then upload.
  • Upload glass reports for ordering and again for receiving.
  • Issue PO number to site-based staff for collections.
  • Deal with any supplier queries/issues relating to PO’s raised.
  • Track orders and ensure timely delivery and advise others of delays.
  • To undertake any other task/duties as reasonably required.

PVC Fabricator, East Kilbride

permanent contract, 39 hours per week

Key responsibilities:

  • To set up and operate equipment efficiently and safely as required to your area;
  • To understand and interpret technical drawings;
  • To fabricate doors / windows and curtain walling in line with LEAN Manufacturing criteria and CMS quality standards and customer expectations;
  • To ensure machinery used is in safe working order and any issues/defects are reported immediately;
  • To ensure activities undertaken are completed as per agreed timescales;
  • To keep tools and equipment in good working order;
  • To maintain a clean working environment;
  • To safely store materials such that they are easily located.
