The CMS Innovation hub is a state-of-the-art centre of excellence for leading construction industry manufacturers and suppliers to showcase their latest energy saving building envelope solutions.
CMS Window Systems is proud to host Scotland’s first commercial innovation centre for showcasing energy efficient building products and services.
The 10,000 sq ft facility situated in the grounds of CMS Window Systems’ North Lanarkshire HQ is a working model of energy efficiency. Until recently it was a disused warehouse with the lowest G-rating for energy efficiency, and facing demolition.
After being retrofitted with external “stone wool” insulation blocks, highly thermal efficient windows and a VRF Intelligent Heat Recovery air source heat pump system, which recovers heat from one area of the building and transfers it to another, it now has an A-rating for energy efficiency.
Downstairs in the Innovation Hub specifiers, developers, architects, public and private sector buyers and contractors have access to the most advanced energy efficient products available for new build and refurbishment projects. Among the companies represented at the centre, which was officially opened by Fergus Ewing MSP, are Yale, Rockwool, Sealco Scotland, Saint-Gobain, Sheerfame and Metal Technology.
Upstairs in the Innovation Hub is a state-of-the-art seminar room accommodating up to 80 people as well as break-out meeting spaces and can be used free-of-charge by local schools, colleges and community groups and organisations with a vested interest in reducing fuel poverty.
