CMS Window Systems is delighted to have been able to support Fife fencer Chloe Dickson who triumphed recently at the Senior Commonwealth Fencing Championships in Australia. Chloe won gold after beating England’s Ayesha Fihosy 14-9 in the final of the women’s individual foil event, which followed an equally impressive victory against Scottish rival and number one Katie Smith 15-7 in the semi-finals, and her breeze through the group stages undefeated.
CMS provided sponsorship of £250 towards the costs of Fife-based Chloe’s participation in the event which took place in the Australian capital city of Canberra in November. Just 24 hours after winning in the individual women’s foil event, she skippered Team Scotland to a surprise gold too. They beat Australia in the semi-final and then came from behind to shock England in the final 45-40, with Chloe winning the last match 8-0 to secure the triumph.
Craig Reid, PVC Contracts Director at CMS Window Systems said: “Huge congratulations to Chloe on her fantastic achievement in Australia in bringing home gold! We are delighted to have been able to play a small part in making Chloe’s participation a success and wish her the very best of luck in future tournaments.”
It has been a remarkable 2018 for 22-year old Chloe who has a string of successes to her name with victories in the Welsh Open and Australian Open leading up to the magnificent win in the Commonwealth Fencing Championships. Earlier in the year she won the Sports Personality of the Decade award at the Kirkcaldy and Central Fife Sports Council awards.
