Why should I buy windows and doors from CMS Trade?

Calum Todd, who is tasked with business development at CMS Trade, explains why the company offers a refreshing alternative for window and door installers and building and maintenance contractors right across Scotland.

To find out more about the CMS Trade PVCu window and door range, please call 01355 201921.

Who is CMS Trade?

CMS Trade is a manufacturer of PVCu (uPVC) windows and doors for the trade only. At CMS Trade we are a stand-alone division of CMS Window Systems, Scotland’s largest window and door manufacturer which is renowned for bringing genuinely sustainable windows and doors to the mainstream market.

Don’t CMS Window Systems install windows too?

Yes, they do, but they only work within the social housing, housebuilding and commercial sectors. They – and we – do not install windows and doors for any retail customers (homeowners) or small commercial projects. That’s what CMS Trade customers do, so we would never compete. But being part of CMS Window Systems ensures we have the best technical set-up and support in the market, not to mention giving our installer customers access to a free recycling service.

Which PVCu window and door systems do you manufacture?

Setting up CMS Trade to best suit the needs of the market meant taking a good look at what profiles installers prefer, so we chose market-leading Eurocell and REHAU. Again, this is different from our parent company, reinforcing our dedication to trade installers in Scotland. Eurocell windows and doors are ideal for any type of project, but we know that some end-customers prefer an alternative premium range, and that’s where REHAU provides an excellent choice.

What window and door styles can I get from you?

As you’d expect, we manufacture all the most popular styles – casements, tilt and turns, reversibles, French doors and PVC entrance doors, as well as composite doorsets. So, there is a solution for every project and budget.

What colour options do you offer?

Four standard colours are available in competitive lead times – Anthracite Grey, Rosewood, Oak and white. But we can actually offer any of the colours and finishes that are possible for Eurocell and REHAU profiles – these custom colours will require slightly longer lead times, but they could help you deliver the perfect proposition for your customers.

What quality assurances can you give?

We’ve been able to configure the CMS Trade factory with the latest new machinery, which has plenty of sensor-controlled automation built-in, so we’ve worked hard to ensure that we’ve got the best kit in the market for starters. This is a real help for our windowmakers, but that’s in no way a replacement for their skills and experience. Although we’re a young company, we’ve built an accomplished, highly experienced team who know how to get the best out of the latest machinery and ensure every window and door is finished with a personal touch.

What are your lead times and what sort of service can I expect?

We’re in the business of manufacturing doors and windows to the highest standards in very competitive lead times, so we don’t expect to keep you waiting any longer for you order than you would anywhere else. We’ll give you a quote within 24 hours, which you can request by calling me, emailing us or by fax. Once you’ve confirmed your order, we’ll keep you posted on progress along the way and any issues will be flagged up as soon as possible. We’ve got a friendly team dedicated to making life as easy as possible for you so just talk to us if you have any queries.

How does the free recycling service work?

Our in-house recycling centres take post-use windows and doors made in any framing material – PVCu, timber and aluminium – for separation and streaming to recyclers. We also recycle the glass units, hardware and any other component parts. That means we divert 100% of waste away from landfill. On a practical level, this allows installers to save hundreds of pounds a year on waste disposal costs – just drop off your old windows and doors, which were removed from your last jobs, when you collect your latest order. There’s no charge or catch, it’s just our way of thanking you for your custom.
